PLAYING WITH PRESENCE with Aaliyah

How do I have moments of intimacy while dancing? What can I do to command the attention of my audience – whether it’s 1 person or 100 people? Experiment with your stage presence and how to captivate an audience through being witnessed by your peers. We will have variations of group sizes as I play 3 different songs throughout the workshop. Instead of teaching a combo, I encourage everyone to bring either a small piece of choreography they have created or try out some freestyle movements. The intention is to take the movement of your choice and practice embodying it through musicality, intention, and eye contact. I will share my personal dance experiences and how I practice embodiment as we collaborate on engaging in connection through movement.
